Advice needed on my lust problem? |
I am 24 yr old male seeking advice. My lust problem started at 16. At the time, I was in severe mental pains with severe depression. I tried sports, reading books, riding bicycle, etc. to mitigate the pains. However, it would only dull pains temporarily and never fixed my depression. At the time, I didn't even know depression is a serious mental illness. I felt I have to somehow overcome it with my mental strength. The pain was just too much for me to bear and I desperately wanted to find escape route from it. I knew how bad, evil drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sex were. So I stayed away from them. Then I found masturbation and porn and I was hooked to it instantly. I have never even thought it could be addicting cuz everyone said it is healthy and normal way to relieve tensions. Hence, I didn't feel guilty at all and have been using them as escape route until recently. Now I am having to deal with lust problem on daily basis in addition to severe depression. Can you offer me advice? ouch ... i ain't touching this Q with a stick ... Advice needed on my lust problem? Act on it. Or spend your life fighting who you are, based on some silly mythology. There are two quotes that I believe may be helpful. "We (Christian men) need to stop thinking of girls as potential girlfriends and start thinking of them as sisters in Christ." - Joshua McDowell, I Kissed Dating Goodbye And basically the other one (I can't quote it well) just talks about, when in temptation don't try to stop thinking of the girl, because you can't do it on your own. Rather, when in temptation, think more about God and give up your lust to God. Find a willing woman and have sex until you are exhausted this should help! You would better off to find your own wife so she could be there for you each day! It is a chemical reaction in the brain which causes you to feel good by masturbating (a natural inclination when one is depressed)...try, vomiting, exercise, opiates, or bashing your head against the wall...tread carefully though, self-indulgence is the one true evil and society tends to be rather schizophrenic about social engineering... You sound like you are a perfect person to run for Congress of the United States of America. Just turn the lust for sex into a lust for raising money to run for office.
