Dependable, light, easy to handle, beginner, sport bike/crotch rocket that is reasonablly priced, suggestions? ultra classic I would start with a Yamaha 250 they are light, and a beginner bike, and also fairly cheap, just go to their website, Www.yamaha-motor.com I think depending on your size you might also look in a 600, you can find some used ones at reasonable prices. Suzuki 600 if you get that 250 you'll be wanting something biggher in 5 min. trust i had a honda 954RR Yamaha FZS600 Fazer Decent Mid Range cruiser. Excellent Commuter. Really rude holligans bike. Does great stoppies and wheelies. Stick yer bum back , hang on, down shift and then open her up to max. She takes off like a Harrier bloody jump jet. 0 -60mph in 3.7 secs. Top whack around 145mph. (stock standard.) For the new biker, this bike is so well mannered she will almost apologies to you if you get it wrong! Good balance, excellent brakes (from the R6), no vices, very manouvreable, slow riding is a dawdle (impress the guy behind you), Decent range tank, ride nicely ( won't happen!) and you will get 45mpg.(UK) Ride like the hooligan you want to be and you will get bigger bills for fuel, tyres, brakes but not much else. The standard Bridgestone Battleaxe 020's give a real sense of confidence because the Fazer just loves the twisties. ( I even put my knee down at roundabouts just cos it's so much fun and so possible for a lamer like me.) 2002 - 2003 Foxeye or 'Facelift' model with the R1 style Bikini Fairing is regarded as the best but previous models OK too. After that, the new bike was different and didn't have the brilliant Thundercat engine. Sorry to wibble on but I think the Fazer is about the best first sport/cruiser type bike you can hope to get. Although I have bought another two bikes since then, I still kept my Fazer because I can't find anything yet to replace it's role in my biking needs. PS Spares are easy to get and cheap, especially on ebay! well i just got my first sports bike and i love it. I got a Kawasaki Ninja 750. Its big enough that when you get more experiance on it you can still have fun. As far as price goes I got mine for 4k. But DO NOT get a 250 because you will just end up buying another bike in a month when you are more comfortable with riding. Whatever you get be carefull. =) |
