What is th Best kind of Helmet for riding a Sport Bike?? |
can you give me a link to it? In my humble opinion:- Full Face type helmet. Must carry the relevant approved stickers for your country. Important to have it fit correctly (Try it on first) Weight is a factor Peripheral vision is a factor Ventilation is a factor. Then you are on to stuff like style, graphics etc. And lastly, how much cash can you go to? Here's some more informed information from the pros.:- http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-h... Here's a few links:- http://www.hjchelmets.com/ http://www.shoei-helmets.com/ http://www.araihelmet.com/ http://www.caberg-helm.com/ Buy the best you can afford. If you can afford the top brands OK! Just don't buy cheap. (My sport bike helmet is a mid range HJC. Nice helmet and great graphics. Obviously not the BEST but good for my needs and budget!) http://www.shoei-helmets.com/road/... i love shoei helmets. its best to get a full face model, single piece. they are the safest. the ones that fold open from the chin down usually brake off if you face plant, which could mean bye bye to ur chin. gl http://www.shoei-helmets.com/road/helmet... Best on the market Almost 0 blind spots Mine is similar to the RF-1000 25+ years riding 2006 Busa current bike Im gonna have to go with Arai. This helmet is very light in weight and is incorporated with aerodynamics. Check out the site, you will be pleased. http://www.araiamericas.com/home.asp... I have an Icon Hooligan Mainframe helmet. It is extremely comfortable and has a lot of ventalation, so I stay cool even in the heat, and can close the vents and stay warm in the cooler weather. It is both DOT and SNELL rated for safety. It is relatively inexpensive at $250. There are plenty of designs to chose from. I am a girl, and mine is lavendar and white! But they have plenty of more traditional designs that appeal to men. Here is the website: http://www.rideicon.com/ they also have lots of other gear to match the helmet. The site is a bit tough to navigate though (darn Flash based sites!) Here is another link to the specific helmet: http://street.parts-unlimited.com/32/289... and to the icon brand helmet lines: http://street.parts-unlimited.com/32/289... When I was looking for a helmet, I tried the high end brands (like Arai and Shoei), I tried HJC and I found the Icon to be the best balance of comfort and price. HJC are pretty inexpensive, but not as comfy or ventalated. Arai and Shoei are very expensive and very good helmets, but they just cost too much for me. I just ride a cruiser, and am a beginning rider, but I like to have a good helmet just in case! |
