When should you start running synthetic in a litre sport bike? Wait until it's past the manufactures suggested break in period. As soon as your first change. I don't think there's a point that's to early. There's some thought that you shouln't use a synthetic on a high mileage motor after always using standard oil though Go at least 1000 miles. i just bought a new hog. i was told to always use a synthetic in it to make it hold up and last longer. start with the first oil change at 1000 miles and never never stay at a steady speed more than 1 hour at a time.also dont give it all it has as soon as you take off. i personally would wait until after the 2nd oil chang (4000-6000 miles) depending on how you ride it. If your bike has a wet clutch, maybe never. Follow the makers spec, and change when the bike has done 1000 miles. Only use motorcycle synthetic oil and not car stuff |
