What is the difference b/n a naked bike & a sport?

Is it just aesthetics? What are the pros and cons of a naked bike?

Thanks alot!

The definition is different to different people, there is no designated authority that categorizes them by some standard of measure. For me if it's a sporty bike that has little or no fairings it's a naked bike.

Pros: no fairing to replace if the bike is dropped, and any road rash isn't as glaring. No need to drill through fairings to add functional frame sliders and engine guards. Easier standard maintenance since the fairings don't need to be removed just to change the oil filter for example.

Cons: the fairing hides and acts as the first layer of protection for ugly parts like radiators, whereas a frame hides most of the softer plumbing on a naked bike. On a naked bike some parts like radiators are unprotected from impact by rocks and debris. On my bike they're tucked up on the sides of the engine, but because of the fairings they won't burn your legs since it would take some effort to get to them.
A true naked bike is the one that I ride. It doesn`t have petrol, or an engine, it`s a push bike, and without me on it, it is truly naked.
A naked bike has no fairing (covering) while a sports bike has one. The pros of a naked bike is that it looks better and doesnt have the comlexity of a fairing where as the cons being that it is not aerodynamically efficent at high speeds and does not offer wind protection to the riders face.
a naked bike has no fairing whereas a sport bike has a fairing for aerodynamic purposes. the naked bike usually puts the rider in a more upright position. a naked bike will probably cost less and not be as fast as a sport bike. it will still go fast enough to get you in trouble, though, depending on if you ride like I do or not.
Like ash said, a naked bike doesn't have the aerodynamic full fairing on it. That makes it much easier to work on. However, some naked bikes can still have small (quarter) fairing on them for rider comfort. Another difference is the riding position. Naked bikes usually have a more upright riding position making them more comfortable for long distances. Do a search of these naked bikes to get an idea of what they look like: Suzuki Bandit, Yamaha FZ1, Honda 919, Kawasaki ZXR1100. For Sport bikes, check out: Suzuki GSXR 1000, Yamaha R1 etc.
A sport bike has a full fairing. Windshield & upper cowl and lower clowling that covers the side of the motor and down to the bottem front as a scoop.
A naked bike doesn't have a full fairing with lower cowling. Just a windshield and fariring that covers the headlight.

Click Motorcycle, SPORT, SELECT MODEL.
Z1000, Z750S are naked bikes. The rest are sport, except the Concours. That's a sport tourer, because of the saddle bags.
the fairing thing is all true.
another point to add is that a lot of times the sports bike engines are more powerful and advanced. for example, the brand new suzuki GSF 600, a naked bike has the engine from the old suzuki GSX 600, the sports version.
