Why is the front tire on sports bike type motorcycles so small? What type of characteristics would you have if the front wheel of a one of these motorcycles was larger? Taller and wider? actually the rear wheel is always increased in diameter because we would get a greater rotational velocity to any given rpm. the front tire could go small or the same as the rear but smaller ones are more advantageous to increase handling. It is smaller than the back so that you are always riding down hill. I think that most of the weight goes to the rear. Therefore, to increas performance or whatever, you can reduce the size of the front tire. sound ok? stef |
