I need help choosing a bike to ride....?

Im a first time rider who is looking ot buy a bike but heres the thing i want a sport bike but im 6'1 and built pretty big not so much fat but muscular. anyways i need to know what type of sports bike would be good for a first time rider thats kinda bigger than most people.... anyhelp would be great....

sport bikes 9x's out of 10 are so unforgiving, they will kill a rookie with the 1st mistake u make on a twisty road. they will do what the rider tells it to do instantly, even if the action will result in the bike puttin u down hard. sport bikes no bigger than 500cc's will still have enough ballz to kill u if u disrespect it, but is more forgiving than a 600 and up; remember that a water cooled bike will put out alot more power than an air cooled engine of the same size. a 750cc water cooled cruiser has just as much ballz as my 1200cc sportster on the takeoff roll. u will get urself killed inadvertently if u insist on getting a 600cc and up crotch rocket.

u'd be able to build up skills alot easier being on a cruiser. u should enjoy the ride, not tryin to slam it into 60 degree lean angles on the streets.
i have a sport bike you could buy it would be perfect.

Visit your local bike shops and dealers and I am sure you will get a
good bit of information that you lack right now.
you should try the suzuki katana, its longer than alot of sport bikes and is good for someone with long legs. im only 5'10" but i noticed that my knees werent near as high as normal with the katana. they are also very fast bikes.
In my personal opinion - which I have formed after being a biker for more than 30 years - is that you should buy a sport bike as a first bike only if you have a death wish, or have this irresistable need to become a traffic statistic.

Sport bikes are powerful and extremely fast. They are also topheavy and hard to handle at slow speeds when ridden by an inexperienced rider.

I suggest you put your desire for a sport bike on "hold" for now, go buy yourself a cruiser, and learn to ride the right (spelled S-A-F-E) way first. Once you get some experience under your belt, trade the cruiser in and get a sport bike.
Hey, I'm 6'2 and just got my first bike last April. Like yourself I am also a first time rider. I check out a few rides but the Kawasaki EX/Ninja 500 was a good fit for my body and my wallet. That might be a possible option for you. Its a great starter bike. A lil dated look but who cares, im just learning how to ride yano.
