Good beginner bike?

I am wanting start riding motorcycles and I need some suggestions on bikes. I'm looking for a sport bike with 250cc's. I am going to do the msf thing to learn to ride. I know the consequences and all so suggestions would be helpful.

Go with the kawasaki ninja EX250 -- a great little sport style motorcycle that is very kind to the beginner but still has something for the experienced rider. It is a solid bike, and the probably the only 250cc sport bike you should consider. I love my little Ninja! Start with the forums on www.ninja250.com: great info there. Good luck, and be careful out there! :) Source(s): www.ninja250.com and owning one myself.

When checking out a bike for yourself ONE sit on it and make sure both feet touch the ground TWO if you plan to ride it on the street you need at least 500cc so you can get out of peoples way. THREE if you only plan to ride off road like trail riding refer to Sec ONE

There's no doubt that the Ninja 250 and 500 are the best "first bikes" out there. They are cheap, reliable, and both will take you 0-80 mph. faster than you need to go. The 250 is a bit more ""newb" friendly, as it's lighter and therefore a little less intimidating for the complete novice. If you buy either bike used, there is a strong possibility that you will be able to sell it for as much as you bought it for, providing you don't wreck it.

The Blast could be a great first bike, but it's higher price and lack of reliablility take it out of the running unless you absolutely MUST own a Harley product. Also, though it's a 500, it's single piston engine lacks power, and will actually lose to the Ninja 250 in a drag race. The Suzuki GS500 is nice, and much more modern looking than the Ninja twins, but it's also considerably more expensive, and doesn't have the power that the Ninja 500 has.

If you one and only concern is looks, go with the Suzuki. If you want performance, cheap price, and great resale, go with one of the Ninjas. If you want quirky and aren't concerned at all with price or reliability, it's Buell all the way.
