Sport bikes. Which are the most comfortable on long trips? |
Are there any "crotch rockets" that are also reasonably comfortable to take out on a long trip? The Katanas are pretty good. The 600 is buzzy compared to the 750. Both are a little heavy compared to all out sport bikes. They are considered sport touring bikes. Take a look at the Honda CBR1100 or the Kawi ZX9. Both of these were comfortable for sportbikes. Depending on your height/dimensions, some people consider the Hayabusa and ZX14 comfortable. However, those two are super fast and dangerous for the unexperienced. If your legs can be folded up behind you for hours. If you have a tank bag to rest your chest on I do not find any sport bike comfortable. But I love to blast around on one. Short trip machines. ASE master Techn they're not designed for "touring" so to speak all will be reasonably comfortable depends on what speed you intend doing on trip. If you stay within legal speed limits you can sit upright and will have less wind than naked bike. Do regular trips of about 500 km or 300 miles on day and don't find it a pain Get yourself a Katana. Fast and major comfy. Yamaha Vmax I have just done a trip of over 5,000k's (3,000 miles), over 20 days with it loaded up and the missus on the back and it was brilliant! Longest day was over 600 k's (about 400 miles) and with the fuel tank range you have to re-fuel about every 200k's which is when you start to squirm - 5 minutes at the servo and your off again a庐se refreshed. They have the performance of a superior sports bike with the comfort of a tourer - need a pic just email me: jonlear@tpg.com.au |
