Is a 600cc sports bike really too big for a beggining rider? |
i can ride a 125cc dirtbike and can handle it like nothing it really bores me......i can also handle a 250 dirtbike but its not as easy because of its height i am 5' 10" and i weigh 205 pounds i am pretty strong i am a linemen for high school football i really like the R6,CBR600,ninja zx6,R6s Hey Carro, -What you need to do is go out and take a Motorcycle Safety Course and get your Motorcycle License. It is not your size, weight or strength that makes you a good rider, it is your motorcycle training, skill and experience that makes you an xlnt rider. -Going from a little 125cc dirt bike to a 600cc crotch rocket will probably get you hurt or killed. These are two totally different types of bikes which require different riding skills. -Go get trained and get your motorcycle license first, then after taking the Motorcycle safety course and talking to the instructors you will have a better idea of what bike is right for you. Be safe and smart! You are still young and have lifetime ahead of you. You don't want to spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair or dead. Source(s): I ride a Ninja ZX-6r. I use to ride a Ninja 250r Baby! well it is kinda too big but if you start slow youul get used to it I know too many people who've gotten themselves hurt (a few even died) from going out and buying large cc sport bikes as their first. Play it safe and get something around 250-500cc. you should get a 200cc and get really confident about it and i dont think its all about strenth skill and agility helps alot Bikes only go as fast as you want them to. It's not the machine thats dangerous, it's the person controlling the throttle. Get a 600, they're great fun! It has nothing to do with physical strength, as sportsbikes are lighter than 'normal' road bikes. The power of a 600cc sports bike, however, *will* scare the sh*t out of you, and your inexperience means that when things start to get hairy, you will react like a beginner, and find yourself smeared over the road. Get something like a Yamaha Fazer, or a 600cc Bandit. These bikes are more than powerful enough for a beginner, and might well save your life. |
