Which is the best sports bike for pillion comfort whilst not compromising on looks or performance? |
Im not a small person ( UK size 16) so a decent amount of seat space would be good! I used to love my exes busa. Such a comfy pillion seat and I'm a size 14 so the large seat was great for my larger rear end ;) Quite a few of the Triumph models are okay. BMW, some of the Hondas. You need to see if you can get an extended trial. What seem comfortable after 20 miles might be hell after 200. Of course, if you're only going 20 miles... Something that makes long journeys more comfortable - an intercom. Conversation stops you thinking about minor (or major) discomfort, and you can help with navigation. Biking with pillions since '75. In Europe: 3,000 miles in two weeks, two up, with camping gear. Memories of riding pillion on a Vincent "Black Shadow" which left permanent marks! Suggest you take a trip around showrooms and bounce around on a few bikes - a bit like buying a new bed, comfort is subjective. In short, a sporty looking touring bike. Go shopping, see what grabs your attention and is comfortable. DUCATI's ST4 is one nice example. Hi My partner and I both ride bikes and have travelled long distance two up on his Triumph Sprint (2001 model) very comfortably. We can Both totally recommend this model as the seating and foot pegs are very comfy. A Goldwing with a set of "clip-ons" Best of both worlds...Sporty leaning over the tank look for hubby and armchair comfort for you! lol! Seriously, I just sold a Blackbird and my better half said it was very comfy on a journey. Good luck! |
