I'm 120 lbs, and 5'6", can I ride a sports bike, like any other guy, without any sort of drawback? I'd kill to be 5'6. Then I could ride any damned thing! Drawback such as what? Do you think you are too short? Many bikes are low enough for women to ride, Are you too light? That will only allow you to go faster. Have fun There are some drawbacks. Most sports bikes will have you on your toes when at a stop. I guess you have never ridden a motorcycle. You should have both feet flat on the ground when at a stop. I had a Honda CBR 600 F2 and was able to have the balls of my feet on the ground. If you are on a road that is crowned (middle is higher than the sides) and you need to come to a stop, you want to lean on the high side, or you will fall, like I did when trying to put your foot down on the low side. Some will have a seat height too high, i.e. you cannot have both feet down at the same time. You don't want to buy those bikes. You have short legs...Don't get one.... one of my riding buddies is 5'6". he lowered his gsxr 600 and now he can touch the ground fine. you shouldnt have any real problems. My friend is about 5"7 125, he rides a Honda 599 with no problem, it should actually make is easier for you. I'm 6'4 and I have a hard time shifting sometimes. Anyway, you'll be just fine, don't think about it, just go have fun. They come in all sizes. And when you find what you like, it's not hard to make it fit. |
