Suzuki GSX-R 600/1000, Honda CBR 600/1000RR, Kawasaki ZX-6R/10R, Yamaha R6/R1, Triumph Daytona 675, Ducati 749/999, MV Agusta F4-1000
Those are probably the top sportsbikes to get, however, if this is your bf's first bike and you don't plan on him getting hurt or dying, it would be best for him to start on a smaller slower beater bike for a year before upgrading. It'll be safer and it'll save him a lot more money because just dropping one of the above bikes in the driveway will cost $500-2000 to fix. Also, insurance for new riders is extremely expensive especially for larger displacement bikes. Something like a used Kawasaki Ninja 250/500, Suzuki GS500 or SV650 would probably be a much better choice. Once he grows out of them, he can pretty much sell it for almost what he paid.
