Sports style bikes for a tall rider.? |
I am about 6'2 and want a sport bike like honda CBR or similar. it is the style i am bothered about not the speed, and want something reliable not like an aprilia. 4 stroke please. Something comfortable for a tall person 6'2" is not huge for most sport bikes. The ergonomics on several of them are going to feel tight though. The bikes that are trying to look and act like racers are getting smaller and smaller. Especially the 1000's. Go to a shop and sit on some of them and see how they feel. If the all out sportbikes seem too tight for you I would go with these suggestions: Someone mentioned the FZ1 this might be a good place to start. Very strong motor and sport style with a more upright seating position that could fit you better. Certain sport touring models have much more relaxed ergos but still look very sporty and have very strong motors. A Triumph Sprint ST would be the most sporty looking of these in my opinion. I have had one of the older generation for 7 years and really like it. In this category would also fall the Yamaha FJR, a GREAT bike, a little less sporty in look. Also the new Kawasaki Concourse which has the same engine in it as the ZX14. This engine screams! Another Triumph to try, less sporty in looks, very sporty in how it handles would be the Tiger. It's actually a bit big for me. I'm 5'10" but have a fairly short inseam. Along the same line as that bike would be the Suzuki V-Strom (1000 or 650) they look rather less sporty but can ride with most sport bikes. a cbr would work. or a yamaha yzf. my preferance is to honda though. my friend from church had a yam. r1 and he was like 6'3"-6'4" Try Going For a Suzuki or Honda Which is really good... Suzuki I Heard Are Extremely Quick and easy to Drive... They are both good 4 tall people... Still They look Stylish too... Hope this Helps!! I'm 6'1" and 258lbs I ride a Honda 599 its in the Sport/Touring class fun to ride, quick and none of the plastics. I like to sit a little further back in the seat but its has one of those sport bikes seats so I can't slide back at highway speeds for a longish trip (2hrs plus). both 600 and 1000 CBR will be OK own exp. BMW makes some bikes that are a little taller |
