Whats a good beginner motorcycle for someone who never rode? |
i dont want to take it more than 10 mi round trip to and from work. Looking for something besides a sport bike Here's the same answer I've given a couple of times before... The best bike for a novice is probably a Honda 250 Rebel. There are hundreds of them out there and you can buy them for very little money. They are excellent beginner bikes. You can run at about 65 MPH on the highway, and get 70 miles per gallon. Buy one, spend about 6 months learning to ride on it, then sell it for almost what you paid for it, and then go buy the bigger bike that you wanted. While you're at it, spend some time and a few $ to take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's beginners rider course, and learn how to do it the right (safe) way. Harly Sportster 883 Start SMALL, brother. I got MY start on an old Vespa scooter. A friend of mine smashed it into the back of a car. I had better luck and learned some valuable riding lessons before owning a larger machine, which was a Triumph 500cc yamaha virago i tried a harly but it was to heavy and uncomfortable. the yamaha virago is low comfortable and easy to ride and handle. mine is for sale due to my good experience now. so i'm buying a new bike. it's a 1997 virago 750 in beautiful shape ask. $2500.00 rays03mustang@yahoo.com albany ny area hayabusa-200mph JetDoc is right. You should select his answer for the best answer. |
