125CC Motorbike? |
I live in the UK and I want to buy a motorbike to get around. I want something which is 125CC maximum as I only have a CBT at the moment. I don't want a sports bike, but I want something which isn't going to make me look like a complete twat. Maybe a sylish looking scrambler or something. I'm really not sure, I don't want something which is going to raise too much attention from potential theives either, and I don't want to look too much like a chav. Any suggestions? Oh, and please keep your suggestions to bikes which don't sound like lawnmowers, and NO MOPEDS!! Thanks for suggestions. A5c11Char5et Hmmm, unfortunately, my knowledge is only really with sports bikes, but i will try to help as best i can. One thing to remember with 125's is they all sound terrible, even with muffler cans and custom exhausts, its just the nature of the smaller engines. The Honda CG 125 isn't the most attractive bike in the world, but i'd say its the most practical 125 out there. No doubt you did your CBT on one of these, if not, it would have been something similar. The ride is comfortable enough, and they handle very well. Just be sure to buy one with low milage, otherwise its almost certainly an ex training school bike. I know you said you dont want a sports bike, but i reccomend the CBR 125 to any new rider, as it offers by far the best bang for buck. They are dirt cheap, even brand new, look nice, and handle really well, sure they sound like a hairdryer, but you get the Honda reliability, and safer acceleration with one of these. If you dont want to look like a chav, don't even consider a crosser/scrambler, in my eyes, anyone who rides one of these on the raods is a twat and a chav, they are off road bikes, even if they have been made road legal. They are horrible to ride on roads, there is little or no fun, and they are by far the most awful sounding 125's going. Finally, respect for the hatred of the Mopeds =) Good luck whatever you chose, and happy riding. Look around and you may find a 125cc motor bike from Suzuki or Honda or one of those dealers. |
