Which motorcycle would be the best for me? |
Im 18, and tall, and im looking for a sports bike it will also be my first bike im deciding between a Suzuki GAX-R600 or a Katana 600 What do you guys think? u will regret getting a sport bike period. i'm also on the tall side, and the seating position for us 'tall boys' suck. these bikes dont travel very well. after 80 miles give or take, u'll want to get off. have u even sat on these bikes yet? take a good hard look at how u sit on it. almost all ur weight is on ur forearms, and ur sitting slightly forward. that bike will wear u out way before the tank runs dry. zuki will kill u rookie..u cant handle a race type bike yet. 1 mistake, and it will get u seriously hurt. u cant make a mistake on a zuki, it isnt forgiving. the 'tana will be slightly forgiving, but will have more than enough power to get a rookie in deep kimchee if u dont respect the bike. and insurance on either bike at ur age will be extremely high. they will look at it this way: 600cc sport bike, 18 yr old single male.....very high risk of riding reckless. u might ride sane, but other 18 yr olds have already sealed ur fate by being a dumbazz and dumpin the bike hard. u'd be better off on a cruiser till ur 25. insurance might look more favorably on it than a sport bike....but ur still going to have high rates reguardless until after 25. dont forget all the needed gear either....sweat washes off....road rash doesnt. you know those cool black ones that cool people ride and at the sides you knopw like a fire picture on it like Billy Idol's and you know that motorcycle from that movie Grease 2 the motorcycle's on that movie are sooooo cool and i'm a girl and i'm just sayin that if it's your first bike, take a motorcycle safety course first. it's about $250 but it's well worth it. then you can decide on which one... I'd go with the Suzuki. you might want to look at Honda and Kawasaki too. gsx-r,they r way more sporty and a bit faster, but look into a honda cbr 600rr ive had mine since 2004 and love it or a honda f4i, the f4i to the 600rr is like the katana is to the gsx-r My personal opinion is you should pick up a Yamaha R6. I actually was 18 when I bought my first bike, and I never regretted buying that Yamaha. Smooth around corners, yet very fast, the R6 is also very " Tall people friendly ". Former Yamaha R6 owner |
