I would love some insight on bike riding?

I use to ride bicyles everyday, I developed dizzy spells and had to stop. The doctors found out what was wrong with me but it has been 1 1/2 years. does anyone have sugestions how to get back into the sport I loved so much after so long.

Stop. Think. For God's sake look the bike over befor you even start to pedal. If it's been that long since you've rode, and you aim at rideing the same bike as you did oh so long ago, then have a pro check it, unless you know what your doing of course, then you can check it. If your bike has gears, check to see if they need to be reoiled, or adjusted. Check the breaks, and see how effective they are, and if they "stick" when releaseing the brake lever. Check the tubes, and the tires as well. All of this is mainly safety stuff, but its better to know the bike your going to roll out with is in proper mechanical condition, then getting out on the road, and something mess up. The grease in the ball bareing chambers (in the hubs, headset, pedals and crank houseing) might also need to be removed, and replaced with fresh grease. This will help reduce any, and all friction. Make sure the rims and straight, and trued so they don't scrub agenst the pads. If everything checks out, and you have air in your tires, then hit the road. REMEBER, all of that was safety stuff. Alot of people don't even think about that type of stuff, but it can mean the difference between a wonderful, flawless bike ride, or a trip to the bike shop. I doubt I helped, if anything, it probably sounded like I talked about nothing. But if I aided you at all, then cool beans ^^. Enjoy the ridein, stay safe. Get on your bike and start pedaling. Start about 10 miles and gradually work up mileage.
maybe you should just start riding?
If you still experience the dizzy spells, a recumbent bike is worth checking out.

If you do not experience the dizzy spells, perhaps a nice "fitness class" bike for around town is just the thing for confidence.

Go test drive a Diamondback Maravista to see what a good "town and trail" bike feels like. Get on the smallest size you can ride so there's not much reach for the handlebars. Raleigh Passage is similar.

Of course, it is no road sport bike, but it will pep up your confidence and provide very enjoyable trail riding.

That's the comfort of a cruiser with the control and speed of a cyclocross--because cyclocross is exactly what they are.

While you're at the bike store doing the free test drives for your inexpensive "trainer" joyride machine, inquire about the local bike clubs and cycling activities.

Whether you purchase anything or not, the bike store experience and the fun test drives should get you started again just fine. ;)

There at the bike store you can get information on the various types of bike sport, mountain, cyclocross, and road sports, and especially, you can find out who the local group leaders are. They can be extremely helpful in finding fun things to do.
depends what cycling you mean...i ride BMX and do huge jumps but i doubt thats what you do so i will just say what i say to everybody asking how do do jumps...start small and work your way up. don't try too hard or u will hurt yourself
