Motorcycle storage problem? |
what do you do if you want to travel around on a sports bike but have something big to carry? this is why saddle bags were invented. i have yet to see bags on a sport bike. u would do better to just get a cruiser with either hard bags, or standard issue leather bags. sport bikes generally dont make for a long distance travel bike like the cruiser's do. if u know how to properly pack a bike, u can load it down with a hell of alotta gear...enough for a camping trip. u should see how much gear a dude on harley chat group can load on his sportster....message 'tradrockrat'. that dude puts a whole new meaning to 'packrat' have it delivered or use your car. How big? You can only carry so much on a bike. Check your manual first. it's a bike not a car. on long trips i use a backpack thats simple enough. they also make tank bags.i can usually fit everything in my backpack.remember you are riding not going to a beauty pageant. Use saddlebags, and/or if you have a single large item strap it to the back seat. That's why God invented convertibles! It's like a bike with a trunk. Motorcycles should never be used to carry more then a small woman. I think if you check your owner's manual it will tell you just that. You could use a backpack for some items but it would get in the way of a woman, no matter how petite she is. |
