I'm thinking about commuting. Where can I buy a Specialized Tricross Sport Triple in Irvine, CA?

My last bike was a Huffy when I was pre-teen so you can understand how new I am to riding. There isn't a bike rack on my car, so I'll need to find a place close enough to have it professionally fit and then I can ride it home. Supposedly there are some great bike shops in the area, but I haven't been able to locate one that deals Specialized and close enough for a beginner rider. Any suggestions?

I live in Tustin and don't know of any good shops in Irvine. I bought my bike @ Jax Irvine, but they had such poor customer service that I'd never buy from there again. Plus, they are insanely overpriced and take advantage of the uninformed in the repair shop.

The Path bike shop in Tustin is one of the best shops around. They are very friendly, although it is a tad intimidating the first time you go in there. In fact, I bet an employee would give you a ride home.

Switchback Cyclery in Orange is another great shop. I've bought a couple of accessories there and they have always been willing to help me out.

Rock N Road has a good reputation amongst bikers. My buddy loves taking his bike there because they clean it up and make it feel like new again.

Here is a link to a forum that has Local Bike Shop (LBS) reviews, mostly Orange County.

You don't necessarily need a rack to take the bike home. The bike you buy will undoubtedly have quick release wheels which can be easily removed and reattached. You can simply put it in the car with the wheels taken off.

Use the link below to find a dealer near you.

I don't think there are any Specialized dealers in Irvine
but there is a store called Rock N Road and they have stores close by in Mission Viejo and Anaheim
