Best Hog after changing from a sportsbike?

Hi All,

I have been riding sports bikes for several years now and wish to change to a custom model, ie a hog, can anyone suggest a good looking hog for around 拢3000? and also let me know which models can accept the high bars? Thanks and merry xmas!

depends on what u wanna do. if u want to cruise extra long distances comfortable, u'll need a road king or an electra glide at the very least. if u prefer to carve up the twisties aggressively, then the best choices would be wide glide or deuce; they have steeper lean angles.
a 'hog' is another term for a harley, and u wont be findin even a 5 yr old harley for 3k except for maybe a sportster.
any of the harley's will accept ape hangers, but u'll need new brake lines, and throttle/clutch cables. some areas have height restrictions on the apes, so check first.
the best hog is a full grown sow, spoted sow but y would you put bars on a pig?????
You'd really have to check the papers in your area for the prices. A "hog" or Harley would probably go for quite a bit more, new (assuming 2:1, about 拢6000 just for the Softail).

I don't see why any of them wouldn't be able to use ape hangers. I've seen an ape hanger on a sportbike :)

But you could get a decent used Japanese cruiser for around that price I'm sure. I don't know what the prices would be for local brands (like Triumph). Again, it's best to check the local palers. You might even look for a local forum or mailing list for better answers.
Hog is a generic term for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The style we call "cruiser" in the US you may refer to as "chopper". I don't know what 3000 of your money will buy where you live.

All bikes will accept high bars, but remember that you must also find longer cables and have longer hydrolic hoses made to accomodate them.
if youv'e been riding sports bikes for yrs and want to change to cruisers then the best thing to do is find one that you are comfortable with, i.e. ride height, seat height, looks, sound, etc. etc., but find one a little smaller than your used to so as to get the feel of a cruiser before you run off and buy the biggest baddest bike on the market. There is a big difference between riding sportbikes and cruisers in handleing and how you sit.

as for customizing, its all in what you want to do and how much you want to spend for the look you want.

The dynas are probably the closest to what you are used to riding. They will run you about 9000 in your currency.
