Sigh..it's a serious issue for me and i need help on it...? |
it's a pretty embarrassing to type this problem i'm facing...but whatever...a few days ago i'd been to my gyn. as i had period problems and she asked me if i masturbate because apparently my hymen is broken or something...in my culture from the place that i belong...if the girl's hymen isn't intact she's not considered a virgin...i might have broken it cause of sports or because i ride a bike...but i'm scared of how when i get married someday (i'm 18 right now) i'm going to be divorced the next morning because he thinks i'm not a virgin? isn't it embarrassing to have to tell someone that you broke it and you're still a virgin? i mean i feel like i'll have to tell him before i get married n all....but this thing still bugs me all the time....my parents dont know about it...any suggestions on what to do next? just because your hymen is broken, does not mean you are not a virgin. If you have never had sex, then you ARE a virgin. It is not uncommon for someone active in sports to rupture their hymen. A bad fall or accident can do the same thing. The important part is that YOU know you are a virgin. If this is an important part of your culture, it would be best to explain the situation to your intended before you marry. If he truly loves you, this SHOULD NOT be an issue. If you are comfortable talking to your mom about this, please do--she may have some helpful advice or suggestions for you. You may want to have another talk with your doctor on this subject and get his/her counsel on this. seriously i wouldn't worry. I don't know what culture you are from, but is someone really going to check it out and inspect you? I highly doubt it. I wouldn't say anything, unless of course you did have sex or were messing around with yourself, but obviously that is not the case. It could happen from horseback riding or some oddball exercise like that, biking, maybe if its insane biking. If your husband or whatever questions you afterwards, medically speaking not everyone "bleeds" the first time, so there you have it. ! There are many things that could have broke it.... If you're really worried about it and don't want your future husband to think you're not a virgin, talk to a dr/gyn about it... I've heard before that there are surgeries or soemthing that can be done to repair it so it looks as though it's never been torn. It could have been caused from sports, riding a bike, using tampons, simply playing at the park. If it would make you feel better, talk to your parents in the presence of your gyn and that way your gyn can tell them that it was found when you went for your physical or whatever.... you were unaware of it... I dont know what else to say... Sorry... Hopefully your parents will be understanding of the situation and so will your future husband if nothing can be done surgically or whatever. Good luck.
