Does anyone have anytips to help motivate my daughter to be more active?

My daughter is 9. ( a totally sweetie) but lately she has been very inactive, and as a result her clothes aren't fitting. We've just moved so she's not in any sports, but she won't even ride her bike, which she used to love. Our new neighborhood is larger & quiter than our last home. it would be a great place to ride around & we have a playground in walking distance. We've tried family walks & bike rides, but they end up with her crying about how its not fair we make her go with us? We've also taken away the tv, but to no avail...Anyone have have some ideas on how to get her moving?

get her into tennis. if there is a tennis court nearby she can ride her bike to the court, and play tennis and ride home. maybe you could play with her, or find someone her age to play with her. tennis does not cost a lot of money, so try it out.
You get children to be more active by going with them for bike rides and walks etc.

Until she makes friends she'll need you to pal around with.
try telling her what will happen if she doesn't start being active like she heart and stuff and te try to reward her.
Did she used to be inactive? Only a possibility, but maybe you should take her to the doctor. They can do bloodwork for things such as thyroid problems that can slow her down. I think it's a little odd for a 9 year old to not want to be active unless they were used to TV and Nintendo from the beginning (this happened to my little bro who is now 13 and 230 lbs!).
I think you are doing the right thing by taking her for walks and bike rides, but it really could be that she just doesn't have the energy. Take her to the doctor. If there's nothing wrong, try and find out what SHE is interested in. Sports, gymnastics, etc. Give her a little taste of everything to see what she likes best.
try a gymnastics or tumbling class. A swim class maybe. My husband is in the military so when we move, our daughters have to make new friends etc. We keep them in gymnastics, and swim team. Just encourage her, its sad but at this age, girls can start to become self consience about changes they may be going through. Summer is almost here so try to get her out.
Ok. I am 13. I am the same way. I am a little inactive myself. Have you tried talking to her to see why she's acting the same way? For me its really my school. I wake up at 5:30am to get ready for school. I get home from school at 5:30pm. I guess that's about 10 hours. When I get home I'm exhausted. My school says that my homework's supposed to last 2 hours. But it actually lasts longer. I usually finish my homework at about 7:30 to 10, so my day is dead by then. There's no time to get active. But there's still the weekend. I try to workout but I just not motivated. Try to motivate your daughter. Set up a plan. Say if she gets active, you'll reward her. Motivate and reward. Maybe it'll work. I should try this for myself. Hope this helps.
It sounds like she is a little depressed, which may be caused by certain vitamin deficiencies.

Try putting her on a vitamin regimen of a multi vitamin, extra b complex, and extra Vit C. If she is not getting outside enough that in itself leads to depression brcause of lack of Vit D which is essential in mental health. So vit d supplement is neccessary if she is not going outside.

L-tryptophan is an amino acid that has been known to help with depression.

This is a whole natural way, without prescriptio medication.
The b complex vitamins will give her more energy.
It can be hard on young kids to move to a new place, just like adults they can get stressed out, and can want to sulk around or be inactive.
This should help with the physical.
If you are worried about her weight, try apple cider vinegar 2 tbsp after each meal or with meal, it will get her down to her healthy weight without any side effects, while cleaning the body of many toxins as well.
Just keep encouraging her to make new friends and be active without codemning her

good luck
and give her lots of love :)
