More questions for my story. Is this realistic? |
2 friends male and female. college roomates and still roomates after college. never dated or screwed around. thought about dating but that was it. very active in outdoor sports that they do together (camping biking hiking etc). both date others and have seperate rooms. would it be unrealistic or hard to believe that they could lounge around in there underwear? i was thinking the girl would be laying on the living room floor in a tshirt and panties watching tv or playing xbox when the friend comes home. she had just gotten done working so shes vegging out. i dont know if im off base, letting my d * c k make stupid thoughts or if its something that isnt so far from the real world. it happpens on greys anatomy. maybe thats where its coming from. help! thanks write about what you know. I think it's unrealistic, but the important thing is to make sure your characters act the way they really would act as real people. If you think they would actually do that, given what you've already written about them, then they can do it; but I think it would be hard for you as a writer to make it seem plausible. It might be realistic if there had been a previous similar situation. If this was the first time it happened, as a reader I would interpret it as an indication of something sexual about to happen. There is nothing wrong with your scene, but you should outline where they are going to go from there. They have built a foundation in friendship. They now need to build a foundation as a couple. Don't let things move too fast to get them in bed together. That will take some of the specialness out of the story. Build up to a suspenseful night when they realize they were meant for each other and consumate their love. But let it be more than 2 days from the first look to the bed. wait, why does it have to be realistic?! isnt writing spose to be creative and a pure image that the writer is thinking of?! yup, it's realistic enough. just make sure that you establish what their personalities are like so that people could understand why they're not letting their hormones rule their brains and do what you would expect a male and a female cooped up in one dorm room for quite some time to do. no it's not off base. as long as it's within their personalities. I mean the girl can't be a prude and the guy can't be a horn dog smacking her on the ***. i had three roomates in college (two male, and one female) she walked around in her underwear. i didn't. personal preference and such. |
