Conflict Between Boyfriend and his Mom!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!? |
I'm a 17 year-old girl going out with a boy the same age as me. I recieved my driver's license in February of 2007, and haven't been in ANY accidents. His mother forbids him from driving in the car with me, yet lets him do extreme sports like water skiing and dirt biking. She hasn't told me directly that I can't drive with my boyfriend, but instead lets her son tell me that he isn't allowed. She even went as far as to convey through my boyfriend that she discussed the matter with MY mom and that " they both agreed that I need a year's more experience," when in fact she didn't talk to my mom at all! I love my boyfriend very much, but I'm hurt and offended that his mother isn't treating me like an adult. What should I do? I am sorry to say but her request is reasonable. You may not have been in any accidents as of yet but you are still a rather inexperienced driver. Don't worry in less then a year you will both be 18 and can do what you want. Talk to his mom nicely!! Just ask her what her deal is!!! talk to your b/f mom...and explain this situation. and if your b/f mom is mature enough she will understand it. His mother has every right to say he can not be in the car when you are driving. Just because you have had your DL since feb does not mean that you are a good driver. - one of my sisters friends (she was 17) took two of her other friends out to the movies. My mom would not let my sister go with them. The girl that was driving (the 17 year old) ran a red light and hit a SUV crossing the intersection, killing one of her friends and one of the people in the SUV *How would you feel if you killed your boyfriend when you were driving? Would that make you feel like an adult? YOu are a child! Children should not be able to drive... Please ..Please be careful do not be on your cell or texting while driving. Life I think that you should just accept the fact that your boyfriend is not going to ride with you until he and his mother agree that you are both mature enough. |
