Weight issue, 15 male, 215 pounds?



I have been overweight for a long time, about 5 or 6 years. Currently I am 15, male, and weigh 215 pounds. My BMI is 34.7, which puts me in the high risk category. I am scared ****. I have tried making better food choices in the past, but my father doesn't get it. He will purchase fruit when he goes shopping, but not enough other healthy things. He is an excellent cook, but only cooks stuff that will make me fatter. When I have asked him to cook healthy meals consistently, it only lasts a day. I don't have time to cook, I am in all advance classes, and I am in a band. I find it wierd that my doctor has not mentioned anything to me at all in any of my visits about my weight issue. I have brought it up, but it feels like it just gets pushed to the side. No I can not switch doctors. I don't have any friends, so I am very inactive, and also don't own a bike. I've tried walking, but I find it boring alone. I hate sports teams. Please help me get healthy and fit.

You need to do your own shopping. Stop eating fast food, candy, chips and soda. Get into an excersize routine. Go on walks. Start jogging when you can. See if you can get someone to walk with you so it isn't so boring, or listen to music. Good Luck,
Ok I will help you put you must follow my advice exactly. First off you are lazy! The first thing that you have to do is change your attitude. Let the possibility of having a heart attack and looking bad be your motivational factor to change. You are young and you want to change so you are starting off in the right direction.

Once your attitude is set to loose weight and you are willing to do anything then you need to start walking (screw being boring). Do it anyway. I suggest at least a mile.

Now, go look at the back of anything in your pantry. You will notice that there is an amount of carbs on the back that is mandated by the FDA. If you take the carb count and multiply it by the section labeled serving, you will get a figure.

Take this figure and add it together with everything that you consume. Make sure you are adding the total and do not forget to multiply the servings. This will give you a number that you want to round UP to the nearest ten (Example 92=100, 43=50)

If this figure is to high you GAIN WEIGHT. If this figure is to low you LOOSE WEIGHT. The idea is to consume as few of these as possible. I suggest trying to stay around 50 per day.

If it so happens that you have eaten your 50 and you are still hungry then eat a meat to fill yourself such as a steak, chicken or tunna fish.

I went through this when I was a kid and it worked for me, so I know you can do it. You should see SIGNIFICANT weight loose in 2 months. The only drawback is that your energy level will be less, but this WILL WORK!!

well running or swimmming is about the best exersise you can do, id go with your dad to the store and try to talk to him
You need to establish a workout routine. Join the YMCA.
change the portions you eat - start walking 15 min a day move up to 30 min
U gotta help yourself, stop eatting so much, work out, and stick to it. The hardest thing about losing weight is sticking to it. It take alot of willpower and motivation. Find something that moviates you, maybe a pretty girl or guy which each you perfer, and get to it. IT WILL BENEFITS U IN THE LONG RUN!!
you already know what you need, a better diet and exercise.
