I really want to get into shape, loose fat and gain some muscle. Normally I go to the gym on the bike and do my cardio there, but every now and then I enjoy going for a jog on the beach. However, when I do try to go jogging, within a few minutes, I get a burning feeling in my throat/chest. It feels like my throat is on fire, and it starts to close up. It got so bad one time I almost threw up. The rest of the time I was ther I walked, and it hurt the entire day. This has always happened, and has always prevented me from doing well at gym class, and from doing any sports. I am a non-smoker but I grew up with two smoking parents that smoked in the house. My doctor told me that my lungs have a below average capacity. Is this something that can be fixed by training? Also, when I do cardio (like the bike) at the gym I don't get this effect.
I would strongly urge you to consult a cardiologist with your symptoms.
