How much should i eat to lose weight? |
I do enough amounts of sports a week, other than two hours of PE i do basket-ball 1 hr a week, roller blading 1 hr a week and i go on my bike every day. But i eat sooo much i am chubby and i want to lose weight. How much food should i eat and how many times daily to lose weight? Please only write if it answers my question. You are right in thinking that you have to change what you eat to lose weight. Exercise on its own is not enough. Green vegetables like spinach, broccoli, peppers, etc should be part of your diet every day. Salad is so good for you! Avoid starches like bread, chips, crackers as well as sodas and fast food. Then, watch the amounts. Are you eating because you're tired, bored or stressed out, not hungry? Find other ways to deal with this - listen to music, dance, do yoga. You also should be careful that you aren't comparing yourself to ultra-thin models and setting unrealistic expectations. Many teens want to be so thin that it's unhealthy. A few pounds will not make a big difference in your life. Focus on doing things you like and learning about who you are, and you will be more self-confident and not worry about your weight. If you really need to lose some weight, here's an online support group that's just starting that you might find useful: http://www.weightcircles.com You need to look at what you are eating NOT the amounts. If you are serious at loosing weight then eat lots of red, orange, and yellow foods, (lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, raw if possible). Stay clear of processed, and manufactured foods as much as possible. And please stay clear of sodas, cordials etc... and don't touch anything that is lite, diet, no fat etc... Good luck, the weight should fall off its the other way around How much should you not eat? To do this "scientifically" you should go to a doctor on diet. They will help an immense amount ot time. The doctor probably will take a RMR which is a resting metabolic rate or the rate you burn calories everyday without physical exercise. They will then decide how many calories you should intake that will be LESS than the amount you spend each day. This will help you lose fat and weight. In example lets say my RMR is 1500 kilocal, then my intake should be 1900-2300 KCal. You need to eat less calories than you burn working out. Use www.fitday.com to help you track calories burned and consumed. I would guess that you are around 14-16 years of age, and female....1600 calories is the lowest you want to go at this stage - you are still growing and need food, just the right KINDS of food. Eat 5-7 small meals EVERY day, and space them 2-3 hours apart. This way, you will feel full longer, your metabolism will go up a bit, and you wont have the urge to 'pig out' at one sitting. Use common sense as to WHAT you are eating. Avoid the fried, greasy foods and go for the fruits and vegetables. Now, I dont mean the apple pie or the creamed spinach, I mean the fruits and veggies that are RAW and not covered in fat or dressing. Eat whole wheat bread, egg whites, LEAN meats like chicken and fish, and treat yourself once in a while. Best of luck and I hope you reach your goals! personal research, trying to get healthier myself :) |
