Sore legs from running / biking? |
Hi I have been doing a lot of climbing, cycling running and sports latley and in the last 2 weeks my legs havn't had much rest... but I noticed my tendons behind my knee are kind of sore and I have a few constant charlie horses... I was just wondering, will these eventually subside and I'll be able to be active without being sore? That'd be nice! By the way im 17, recovering from a 3 week surgery of doing nothing at all (thats why im all of the sudden sore). yah when i participate in those type of activities i feel the same way. With me it usually goes away...i think it is because my legs are not used to do doing that rigorous of activities. you seem very active..do a lot of stretching before you do any of those activities that will help with the charlie horses and cramps that ur getting..also take it easy for a few days i'm sure your legs will eventually get used to all of it over time.. yes it will be sore for a wile since you have not been active for 3 weeks and it has been a wile since you done anything and for me i miss 2 days of weight training i feel im really week and sore. Ya... just don't push yourself all at once too hard Slowly get back into shape If you injure something too harshly... it won't recover So again... SLOWLY Yes, you'll recover. You just over-exerted the areas, and now if you keep working out hard you have a real risk of serious injury. Best thing is either complete rest - as in lay around all day, or at most, "active rest" which means you get on the bike and pedal so slow and easy that you feel guilty. Don't even break a sweat, just move the legs. Give it enough days of rest that you're not sore anymore, plus one more. Then ease back into it, and if you start feeling soreness again, take another rest day or two. Eat bananas for extra potasium and stretch. |
