How to Delimit 50cc Scooter?


I just bought a new 50cc chinese scooter. It's bloody slow. I can get around 40 kph and on hill, 20kph :((. Can anyone guide me how can I delimit scooter to increase speed. The following is the specifications I found from the booklet.

amazing your scooter has got the same specification as my hairdryer,you moron its limited for a reason.Typical probably a hoody,up all night,no money,no prospects,only friend is a ps2,should be shot wouldnt happen in my day.

Firstly, you have not said a word about the brand, so that isn't helpful.

Of course the first thing I have to say is that it is illegal to derestrict a moped.

It doesn't even say if it is 2 or 4 stroke!

These motors are restricted for a reason, they tend to fall apart.

Get some details on here, there are plenty of people here who can help you.

Addendum: 2 stroke. Remove the carb, and remove thr restrictor plate, if one is present.

Remove the restrictor plate in the exhaust, or better yet, get a chambered exhaust with matching roller weights.

Re-jet the carb to match, and expect it to last only 1 season. With these mods, it should run 40 to 45MPH.

Second season: replace moped.

You can't expect to do anything better with Chinese made crap. Live with it or get rid of it. Labor will cost you more than you buy that Chinese toy.

i have 2 or them and your not guna get anything mor eout of it enless you kno what you are doing. And by thge looks of your question you dont. Even if u start mesing with stuff its hard to get it to run good you might make it go faster but take forever to get up to speed and on hill it might stop. Or you could make it have a loot of powere but no speed. I got mine having powere and going around 53khp and it will go around 38khp on a hill. But it took me a while to get that and its a ***** to start cause the fule system sukes it can barely feed itself gas. anyway you stuck with what you got. changes the oin every 350miles

Restrictions are usually either in the muffler, throttle cable, intake, or a combo of each of them. Only easy way is to get a better muffler, change jets, and hope for the best. There are plenty of other things you can do such as displacement kits and so on. Check out a few companies like Polini. See what's out there, but again it's gonna be tough

Wow, put the handcuffs on me cuz the first thing I did when I got my scooter was to de-restrict it immediately.

If you de-restrict it properly, and make sound modifications to the set-up, and take care of your scooter afterwards, there is no reason to think that it will last only a year.

Experiment! But do the homework first.

I doubt if there are any regulators on this scooter. The motor is small and not very powerful so you are probably hitting top speed without any limitations on the motor.

Sometimes you can make changes to the motor for more power, like adding a free-flow exhaust pipe and a bigger carburetor. You can also change to a piston which will yield higher compression (if you can find one for your particular model). However, these modifications are not cheap.

Chinese motor vehicles are trash, stay away.
