Why don't skateboards use bigger wheels? |
Why is it that the biggest skateboard wheels are like 80mm? Why has nobody ever used 100mm scooter wheels? I mean wouldn't skateboards handle better and go faster with bigger wheels? What I meant was that scooter wheels could probably be used with little to no modification to the trucks... And I had just been wondering why people don't do it. Would anyone ever get a board with scooter wheels? Larger wheels are faster, but have less control and give a bumpier ride. Smaller wheels are slower, but give you more control. Scooter wheels would be way to thin to have any grip and control for a skateboard. Besides, the largest wheels are only for cruising/filming, not for doing tricks. The larger your wheel, the less control you have with the device. There is an inheritant smoothness with small wheels that cannot be found with larger ones. 4 do1ng tricks it would b 2 damn hard 2 d0. Everyone is fine with the wheels we have now, there is no point of changing them yer they do sometimes in vert old school dogtowners like alva and peopel do You wouldn't be able to land as smoothly when jumping high stuff like stair sets. Also the pop would have to bigger to pop high. Hope I resolved your qu!! |
