Why are there so many questions about ATV's and third world scooters?

I thought this was supposed to be a place to ask questions about motorcycles. Scooters are not motorcycles. ATV's are not motorcycles, they are cars with handlebars instead of steering wheels.

I agree with the person who asked this question. Not that I have a problem with whatever folks want to ride or drive, but he's right - ATVs are not motorcycles. There are obvious mechanical differences between motorcycles and ATVs. They just happen to share some of the same manufacturers.

Is there a way to ask Yahoo to start separate forums for scooters and ATVs?

I've been asking myself the same thing Ted. People are not changing from all English to US questions for starters. I've responed in so many ways to a few that they are a bunch of screw-ups. I'm with you on this....tired of hearing about problems with a 150cc motorcycle. Get outta our damn way! We ride real motorcycles on this side of the world!

Yeah, they should have separate categories for ATVs and scooters.
Those kind of questions always seem to be about where the best place is to buy a 50cc scooter in Calcutta.
Or how many Rupee it will cost in petrol to travel from Delhi to Kanpur on a 125cc scooter.

I feel the same way.You see a question about a fuel system or wiring diagram and when you click to answer it's about a toy..they should ask questions about pocket bikes in the toy forum.

there should be a seperate scooter section because any self respecting scooterist is far too intelligent to sift through daft motorbike questions from daft hairyarsed bikers, get a scooter lads, it'll be strange but people might start to like you

For ATVs, they don't (yet) have their own forum.

For the smaller third world bikes, well, English is an official language in India. And they're a lot more likely to use a motorcycle for serious transportation than as a toy there.

Still, I do wish people would say where they're from here. There have been quite a few times I've seen people ask for advice without giving any clue what the local laws and available models are, and worse, no shortage of people who answer with the assumption that you can get a Bajaj Pulsar or a Suzuki GSXR750 in any country...

what is a kanpur? don't you get meat at the deli?
