I want to buy a new moped or scooter but I really have no idea what a good bike would be. I have a pretty tight budget...like $1500 max... I would like it to go pretty fast, but for the most part I will be driving it around the college campus. I read somewhere that if a moped goes over a certain speed that you have to buy a motorcycle license (in Florida)? Can anyone clarify that for me? Does anyone know how difficult/expensive it would be to purchase a motorcycle license in the state of Florida? Just look for a used vespa. Getting a license wouldn't be so bad, maybe $20-$50 in dmv fees. I understand Vespas to be pretty expensive. The advice given to me was to get a well known brand - Honda or Yamaha, for example. They are more expensive than the off brands, but parts are more readily available and easier to get fixed. Report It
