Help on ebay i have an aution running 4 a scooter it ends in less than 24 hours and to day it broke down it ne |
eeds a very small part and can b repaired in less than a minite problem is cant get part till after bank holiday monday what should i do with draw itor let it run if it sells buyer anit gona be impressed and i dont want a bad feed back what is the right thing to do times running out advice plase any one Just inform them of a delivery delay and let them know the reason. If you can satisfactorily repair it, I'm sure they will still want it. Go ahead and sell it, and just email and let them know what happened and that you will have it fixed at no cost to them. Believe me, they will appreciate the honesty and they would understand Let it run and fix it as soon as you can, chances are you not going to have to delivery it before Monday..just be upfront with winner and dont be upset if a refusal to pay comes your way.. You need to contact the highest bidder, and let them know whats going on...if they prefer not to buy it, then you can withdrawl your item. i would probably end the auction, fix the scooter, and auction it off agian... sell it then buy the part put it in and kinda delay the shipping till you ready once the bidding ends and whoever the winner is just tell them that you have a slight problem and that they will receive the scooter a few days later than expeceted Well, as long as it is in the condition you described it as and you get it fixed so it works properly and won't break down again. If you don't think it will be in it's best condition, then you need to shut down the auction as soon as you can. i guess all you can do is tell them the truth and see if they still want it or not. Honesty is the best thing. Contact that winning bidder and tell them what haappened. If they still do not want the item you can keep it or repost it. They will not get mad if you are honest with them. Maybe you could pitch in for postage if they are still interested or tell them that you will get it fixed, it'll just take about a week to get it out. If you can fix it don't sweat it. When the buyer pays say "thank you for your payment, your item will ship wednesday." You have time to fix it, most sellers never ship within a certain time and before the buyer pays can also buy you time, unless the part is no longer available than you better advise or withdraw your item Tell the person that buys it-very politely-the whole problem and that you will be fixing it and sending it a little late...They'd much rather that than you send them something broken. Make sure you keep in touch so they'll know exactly what's going on at what time. Like: "I've gotten the part and it's fixed now, I'm mailing it such-and-such a day." and then "I've mailed it!" Y'know. They love people who keep in touch. You don't have to ship it immediately. I know sometimes buyers take a few days to even pay. You both are to contact each other about payment within so long and then it is up to you about how soon to ship it. I would say, get the part, fix it and make SURE it is working. If you get the part and get it fixed next Tuesday, after the bank holiday, that is still not too late on the payment and shipping part. But do make absolutely sure the part has fixed it. If it doesn't then write to the buyer and tell them an unfortunate thing happened, it broke down and you are not holding them to their bid/sale and don't charge them for it. Do not take any payment from them until it is fixed. It would be bad to take the payment and then have to refund it. If you are not sure it can be fixed, then withdraw it now, and don't let the auction on it continue. Check with a friend, relative or even a computer store may let you go in when it goes off to do the things you need to do. I know cmc works on our computers and when we have problems they let us use one of theirs. The only thing is if they have other customers be careful they don't see your passwords. |
