Do motability scooters need insurance?

My nan has one of them shop rider things. Should she have it insured incase she hits a car or vice-versa, or any kind of accident? If she should where can I get it from?

If they don't they should have. Some the 'drivers' of these vehicles are reckless beyond belief. Some drive on the road, some on the path some on both. It appears (from experience) that most have no idea of where they are supposed to drive them. They also drive at silly speeds, one of them nearly knocked my daughter over the other day, he didn't even acknowledge what he'd done...Grrr!

Please, if she doesn't need insurance, ask her to be considerate towards pedestrians.

Not yet, but its on the cards. It is also advisable, just in case she hurts someone and they sue her, remember compensation culture.

Doubt you'll find insurance for them. Homeowners insurance usually covers things like that. She shouldn't be able to go fast enough to not be in control of that type ride.

as of yet insurance is not required but it is available to cover the damages that she causes in the store and parking lot.
