No licence no insurance 6 points and fine when do points run out? |
my son drove his sisters scooter without insurance or licence he got fine and 6 points. As he had no licence when do the points start from is it when he gets licence or when he was in court? also how long do they stay on licence. I do not condone what he has done but he has started work got a baby and settled down wants to start afresh. Thanks for the help points last for 4 years. Unfortunately you have to have a license for the points to expire. So 4 years from when he gets a license. Good luck getting insurance. Points on your licence start from the day the Court endorses it, or from the start date of your licence if that is later than the court date. They count for "totting up" for three years, and can be removed (for a fee) by sending the licence back to the DVLA four years or later after they were awarded. Most points are on your license for 4 years, although the insurance companies take them into consideration for 5 years unfortunately. when valid license is issued.... when you learn to drive properly. |
