Average insurance for a 500 cc motorbike? |
hi, im 18 and soon will have passed my driving test, im hoping to get a restricted Honda cbf500. but it all depends on how much the insurance is. can anyone guess the average third party insurance for an 18 year old on a restricted cbf500. o and i have a 2 year no clams bonus on my 50cc scooter. don't no if that makes any difference Your best bet is get on the internet and get alist of insurance firms that do bikes, then get on the phone. You'll find that quotes will differ wildly. They like to undercut each other though, especially with new customers. So, what you do is phone Caroll Nash and get a quote, knock a fair few quid off it then phone Bennets and give them your made-up quote off Caroll Nash and ask them to beat it. They will, then you can phone Caroll Nash back and tell them Bennetts did it for cheaper and see if they knock a bit more off. Do it with them all, its a pain in the **** and takes a while but you'll save a packet. no such thing as an average price, they just think of a figure then double it... ONE THING FOR SURE the insurance will cost a lot more than you think it will to be honest nobody can give you a figure it varies so much with all the different variables around the UK I am 16, and I have a Kawasaki Ninja 500, and I am paying $250 a year for the legal minimum in Michigan. I just saved a bundle of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico............ your no claims bonus allways helps and your age will go against you a bit unfortunatley, just keep trying different companys for lower prices but if i was to make a guess id say around 1500 or 2000 ??? '06 Honda 599 and it is costing me $850/yr but I have full coverage with a $500 deductible Depends on your age, age of the bike, where you live, garaged or not, miles per year you intend to do, etc, etc. I ride a BMW F650 ten years old, used everyday for work, third party & theft, age 50 ish, costs me 拢106 per year. aAn 18 year old like yourself maybee 拢1500. as the others say get on to the internet and shop arround and play one dealer off against another. I think that you might find that the no claims bonus wont mean anything as most insurers will only quote a NCB for the length of time that you have held a full licence. If you can get TPF & Theft insurance get it, it is better than Third Party Only as Fully comp is better that TPF & Theft. They are all about the same. Your age and diriving record determine the cost. ( I pay under $200 a year for full coverage on the largest Harley made.) |
