Do you think that the common and accepted reckless driving in Thailand will ever change?

I hear Manilla is heart-stopper too. I wonder if this craziness is ever going to stop. For those of you who have not seen it, I'm talking about undertaking, speeding past the cops, clear drunkenss, 3 cars abreast overtaking each other, over-taking on blind corners, no number plates, helmets, lights, silencers (ugh, the smell), licences, insurance, ignorance of traffic lights, 4 people on a scooter, and any crazy manoeuvre you can imagine. ANYTHING GOES, big vehicles have an unwritten right of way over smaller ones, small vehicles bully motorcycles etc.

It so shocks me after a year, I wonder if it will ever change....

Sure! When pigs fly! Break out your umbrella, though!

Manila, Bangkok, Shanghai, Moscow, all crazy! Seoul only slightly less so -- at least the cops enforce the DUI laws there...

NO, In spite of recently enacted stricter driving tests Thai people seem to have the belief that laws are just suggestions not rules. Should they get stopped by a policeman they just slip him a few hundred BHAT and are on their way. For serious accidents the rule seems to be "Run away and hide". If you leave a safe amount of space between yourself and the car in front there will be 3 Thai drivers that will fill it.

Not in YOUR lifetime. You could move to L.A. (USA)

just look at the rest of manila, and its problems, do you think they even care about reckless driving?
