Commercials for old people scooters?

Are you tired of these commercials? Ok, let's say that ostensibly these scooter companies DO care if you cannot get around well and need some help. I care about that too. You deserve to have one of these vehicles to help you if you truly need it.

What irks me is how these commercials make such a big deal about how they will "take care of all insurance forms for you...just call!". Again, if you NEED a scooter, I am all for you having one and I am all for you taking full advantage of Medicare and/or your private insurance to get one. But shouldn't YOU or a DOCTOR be the ones to decide that you need such a thing? These scooter companies are basically fleecing medicare and private insurance because practically ANYONE will qualify.

Yes I agree that the commercials are just a TV born telemarketing scam. Yes they are just taking advantage of the system and hurting everyone because If Medicare, or any other health care provider pays for one needlessly it helps in raising our medical costs. I don't believe the Doctor is the deciding entity though. If I want a chair then I should be able to buy one without having to see my doctor. I do believe that the persons who need and/or can't pay for one see a doctor. A problem I have with the scooters is that to many times I have seen people get them while they can still walk and move around. Then once they get the chair the exercise from walking stops and they degenerate downhill further and faster.

the fact is that almost NOBODY qualifies for a free scooter or any relief. But once they get you on the phone they are good at making the caller think that they are geting a great deal.

At least the scooter doesn't hurt you. What is worse is drug companies that give a long list of symptoms and then say Ok take my drug. Those drugs all have side effects and people will go to their dr. and ask for them.

The only thing that bugs me about those scooters at the Grocery Store. You see those Big fat lard as* men and women stepping high to get in the store than grab a scooter to ride around in and bump you and want you to wait on them by reaching up high and getting their groceries.

I seen this big fat woman just running in the store grab her one of those scooters riding around to lazy to walk. I was going down the aisle a basket had her blocked and she looked at me and said Thank You for moving cart for me,. I told her,"Your Welcome did anyone help you when you was running across the parking lot hunting you a scooter". I know some people need them , That is nice but these lazy behind people are for the birds.

Don't watch it if it bothers you that much. If you believe this is only company fleecing insurance companies you better do some better looking around. The private insurance companies are the biggest fleecers of medicare and the government.
