My Car dilemma, Mini Cooper or Moped?

I am in need of a new car. My main concern is money. i am a first year college student and i was needing to keep my car payment around 350 in order to be able to afford it and insurance. I just resently found out my car insurance went up and so now i would be paying the $350 + 125 for insurance. I only bring home about $900 a month but i am still living with my parents. my other option is to get a scooter. i have found one for only $900 so i wouldnt have a car payment and my insurance would be cheaper. scooters are more dangerous but when i outweighed the pros and cons they came out the same. i know in the end it is up to me but i would just like some out side opinions on what you would do. thank you a bunch!

I'd personally go with a car.......Unless it was a motorbike, with a scooter you don't have your leg over anything and it's really dodgy. A bike is different, but if I was you, I'd go car

Save your money and pay cash for a $2000 used car. As a college student, you will not want to be strapped with a car payment (if you can even get financed), but you will want something a little better than a scooter. Your insurance would be less on a used car, also.

a car - but u can trade ur mini cooper for a different car with cheaper payments. or buy a used mini.

a Vespa gets wicked good mileage, as opposed to the Mini's paltry 20+ mpg. Also, price could be a factor, if you look at about 5 grand for a Vespa and 18 grand for a Mini. I wasn't able to find much in Consumer Reports on the safety issues, but there is always Edmunds.com. Good luck with your choice!

hmmm.....although scooters are very convenient and cute, like you said....really dangerous......besides.....trying to ride one in the rain sucks!!! i'd stick to an actual car......why not try for used car? those are cheaper anyway! : ) happy car hunting! : )

I live in the uk and have a moped, to be honest i find it more fun rather then driving, also its alot better in traffic an overall i feel that a moped is a better choice although more dangerous
