How to reduce 55w bulb (H3) to 30w? |
Hi. I have 2 auxiliary light (H3 bulb, 55w), it seems too much for my scooter alternator; the battery will be run out if idle about a bit long. I could not find any bulb 30w to replace. How to reduce 55w bulb to 30w? Thanks. Depending on your electrical system, you probably can't use more than 20W without draining the battery. Here are a few ways to reduce the electrical load: You could use only one light at a time. Installing an inline resistor would reduce the output of the bulb, but you'd have a dim yellow light and they'd still draw 55 watts, the other 25 watts would be turned into heat. At the chance of being a bit simplistic, turn them off if not needed. Zero watts drawn from the battery. Change the aux lights. That will fix it, since some aren't 55w. |
