Does it matter what type of 12 volt battery you use for your scooter?

I know I need a 12 V battery for my scooter (Geely). The current battery model I'm using is "YTX9BS". Does it matter what brand it is or is it more important that it's just a 12 volt battery in general?

Make sure it has the same AH or "Ampere Hour" Rating and that the terminals (thats what the wires hook to) are compatible.

you need to get same or close to the amps....

it is 12volts but has different Amps for each battery.

so make sure it matches with your battery spec.

The Yamaha scooter battery has several advantages. 1) it fits, 2) it's available, 3)

The new hybrid cars use batteries with high capacity and light weight. I don't know if that technology is available in your size and specs.

You don't say if this is an electric scooter or if it is a starter battery you are talking about.A starter battery is designed to take a heavy discharge with a slow charging rate. A battery for an electric scooter has a slow discharge and is designed to take a quicker charge. Which ever one you require needs to be the right one for the job.
