I would like to increase the range of my Currie Phat Flyer. It has a 24 volt 600 watt motor. I've thought about adding another set of batteries in parallel. Will the added wieght of the batteries effect the total distance of the scooter? Or is there a another method that could do this that wouldn't wiegh as much?
Those batteries are heavy little suckers. a quick way, as well as considerably lighter than bateries, would be to change the gears with a larger powered gear and smaller driven gear. this would also increase the speed, but reduce the effectiveness on hills and such. it depends on what you need as to drivability and handling as to what method you ultimately employ. |
