Where can I buy a good Bicycle online? |
Im looking for a good bicycle like a Gary Fisher, GT, Schwinn, Trek, etc. Something for cross country biking, mostly trails and roads. I can't find any decent bike shops online. Please help. Most of your reputable and industry leading manufacturers have STRICT policies against selling their products online. You don't get to be industry leader if you let internet sales decrease your product value - and it does... Ibex sells great LOOKING bikes - but the main pivot on their 5" travel bike uses a bushing and the frame a cupless integrated headset and is not heat treated - YIKES! Some manufacturers such as Trek and Felt WILL NOT HONOR ANY WARRANTY if you buy their product on the web. Anyone selling NEW Trek, Gary Fisher, Lemond, Klien, and Bontrager online get reported to Trek's Efraud division, and that stuff is most ofter taken down off the web. Sounds like you want some kind of a nice bike. Your experience at your local shop no matter had bad will be better than that of an internet only sales company who will make you wait and wait for a resolution to your problem. Get something new with a warranty from a SHOP. Trek family products are the best in the industry - 21 years exp tells me this! Lifetime frame, two / three year drivetrain, and the new Bontrager warranty is 5 years on wheels and such! That's incredible - why would you want to short change that..? You will get better customer service and you might meet some good people to ride with. try ebay.com You will not be able to buy any large-scale manufacturer's bikes on-line except for Motobecane. They have strict policies regarding only selling their bikes from retail stores. You can buy used bikes and the occasional new bike from ebay or craigslist, but you will not be able to compare them with an actual trip to a bike shop. You will also want to make sure that you get a bike that fits you properly and that is impossible when you buy on-line. buying a bike online is generally not a good idea especially when considering a mid to high end road bike.the nost important atributes to consider when purchasing a bike are qualities like ride and fit, which cannot be experienced over the internet. also the expertise and advise when buying at a cycling shop may outweigh any potential savings. |
