Why is my Schwinn Bike Speedometer not working? |
I have the magnet and sensor properly allined, everything else looks fine Clean the electrodes underneath the speedometre, and on the docking station. Change the battery And if all else fails take it back to the store and DEMAND a new one! We really need more information, model of speedometer, and what bike your attempting the installation on. Because it says Schwinn on it. They ain't what they once were.... First check to make sure the battery is installed correctly. If it is all the numbers and letters will show on the screen. When you spin the wheel and the mph doesn't change, your next step is to check the distance between the sensor and magnet. You have to get them as close to each other as possible without rubbing and sometimes it won't match the picture in the instruction sheet. Find the best area on the spoke to attach the magnet so it's closest to the fork leg. Also, double check the area on the magnet and sensor are lined up. Sometimes it's a line, but others will show an area 'between' two lines. If that doesn't work, then check the back of the mount for bare or pulled wires. This is why wireless computers are popular although usually double the cost. If that's the case, either you are a whiz at soldering or you buy a new wiring harness. Good luck. bike shop owner for 18 years because your fat butt has flattened the tires!! ----HA HA!! |
