I don't know the name or addy but there is a prety big bycicle shop in Columbus IN. They had a big selection of bikes from brand now to restored clasics. Do you want a reproduction Krate or a real one? If you want a real one, which model- Orange Krate, Apple Krate, Lemon Peeler, Grey Ghost, Cotton Picker? How do you want it outfitted? Many shops that carry (or carried) Schwinn will probably have a couple reproductions around- just ask. Note that the "Grape Krate" was never really produced... there have been some people that had decals made. Neither was the "Cherry Picker" girls bike. For a fully outfitted original Grey Ghost 5 speed, expect to pay $3,000 or more. The Orange Krate was the most popular, and you can get prime examples for about $1200.00 to $2,000.00. I knew a couple of shops in Michigan and Ohio that restored Krates, but don't recall their names. I would suggest calling some Schwinn dealers in your area (not WalMart or Target) and asking if they have any contacts. |
