What type of old Schwinn is it?HELP!? |
The serial #GQ358044 i believe says it's from 1979 but both front and back tire are 16x1 3/4, which I couldn't find one newer than 1975 on the web and no pictures. There is an aluminum bracket thing on the side of back tire that says Bendix 70 mexico. I've spent hours looking on web and can't find anything that says the style of the bike. Any information would be helpful. Thank you. Any chance of a picture of the frame/bike you have? You are right, it is a '79 Chicago frame built July of that year (G being July and Q being the year). Pixies and other models used the Mex built Bendix hub. The bracket "thing" is the arm that sets the brake or shifter in kickback shifter and coaster hubs.
