I have a new chain, set of brakes, and brake wire for my schwinn bike...should I bring it into a bike store?

I've already purchased the brake wire and chain. I have very little knowledge of how bikes work and no unique bicycle tools.

Also, about how much do most bike stores charge for this? Should (or can) I bring them in my stuff (which will hopefully fit) for a slight price reduction? Thanks

i'd say buy a bike maint. book and the tools you'll need (probably just allen wrenches, wire cutters, maybe a chain tool) and do it yourself!

then you could take it in and have the shop check out your installation quickly, just to make sure it won't fail on you!

you could take all the parts and bike into your local bike shop and have them install it, I have no idea what they'd charge, but it couldn't be too much, and would probably only take a day or less to get your bike back, depending on how busy the shop is.

(and by shop i DON'T mean wal mart)
If you don't have much knowledge of bikes it is better that you take it to a bike shop for they can properly put it on.
