What size bolt and nut do I need for the front of my bicycle wheel? |
Basically, I think someone tried to steal it while it was at college. I found it and the bolt/nut that holds the wheel into the bike's frame was missing. It's a Schwinn bike with a 26" wheel. The guy at Academy Sports said I could get it from a hardware store. Anyone know what size I need? Thanks Bikes don't use "nuts and bolts" unless they're junk from Walmart. They use a quick release. If you have a low end bike, just take the whole wheel to a hardware store and someone there can help you. Should be a $1 fix. I doubt they got the whole axle out, so you just need a pair of flange nuts. The standard size for front is M9x1, but on a bike of that type it could be something else. Bring the wheel to a hardware store. |
