Please guide me to select "Road Bike" Pedal.? |
I have a TREK 1500 ROAD, and looking for a Pedal System that will work grear, without getting disengaged while riding ups and down. What would be best LOOK or SPD type? I am looking for a pedal without any discomfort in foot and does not cause me any hotsspots. Please suggest me the peadel with the web address link. Both LOOK (http://www.lookcyclesusa.com/) and Shimano (http://bike.shimano.com/catalog/cycle/pr... make excellent pedals. I ride a the Ultegra pedal (PD-6610) and love it. They also make a less expensive 105 version (PD-5600). These are SPD-SL and have a cleat that is similar (but not identical) to the LOOK. That said I have friends who ride with LOOK and swear by them. Both LOOK and Shimano have large platforms that shouldn't produce hotspots when attached to a good fitting shoe. If you can test ride the pedal first to get a feel for clipping in and out, float feal and under foot pressure you'll best be able to find the one that works best for you. Also don't necessarily limit yourself to these companies only. Speedplay, Crank Bros, and Ritchey make some decent pedals I'd suggest look keo, but the comfort (no hotspots) will come from the shoes you wear (try different brands to see what fits best!). not sure of weblink, but you can just google look keo and you'll find something local. (to be transparent, i'm sitting next to a biking nut and trek dealer friend - good luck) From the previous poster, Look makes the Keo pedals. I'm going to go one step further and say that look makes a very good product. Look has changed very little to the overall design of their pedals through the past 10 years- only the material that they use for making the pedals gets a few grams lighter. Keos are ok, but so are the past pedals just as good at a price break. Look at look pedal #PP296, pp396 as well. Here is a link to look keo pedals on EBay. They usually have good prices on here. I have the keo carbons and really like them, you might want to look at the keo classics if they are more in you price range. http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll... |
